Powerchair football is open to anyone who uses a manual or power wheelchair at least some of the time. Players who wish to compete at a national level must have a verifiable, permanent activity limitation that requires the use of powered mobility to play sport. Our team includes players from ages 8 to 60+ with a range of disabilities, including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and spinal injuries.
We train and play at the Lyneham Hockey Centre on an indoor court, which provides protection from extreme weather. The facility includes wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and parking. There’s also a coffee shop on-site for players, family, and support staff
We have 6-8 regular players and are looking to recruit 5-10 more players. Capital Region Muscular Dystrophy has secured funding for additional Strikeforce chairs, allowing more players to join in the near future.
